Had great fun last night! It has been awhile since I last had the chance to 'lose yourself to the music' as the sign above the toilet urinal reads. Besides, no longer am I a chao recruit but am now a private! Big fuck already, can do anything you want. Off to Phuket tomorrow, come to think of it, its been a long time since I last went overseas too!

POP LO!

Friday, June 01, 2007

I went to help conduct some sort of leadership camp today. I know, why give up a day off to do this right? But my house is being painted these couple weeks, which means EVERY SINGLE BLOODY THING IS WRAPPED IN PLASTIC... That means that If i stay at home, I can't lie on any bed, there's only one TV available, and everything smells like paint. Add to the fact that somehow, the paints were delayed in coming so it is going to take almost 2 weeks to finish painting and I almost don't feel like booking out at all. But of course I would rather pitch a basha in my garden than be inside hell right? But that's why I spend as little time home as possible.

Anyway, we had 'section movement' yesterday but turned out that only me, mok and keefe turned up for dinner at cartel. Oh yea, I also bought my beanie at last. Very tatical... But we went to clark quay after that, when everyone else was supposed to meet up with us. Eventually they all came, and we went to this place who'se name I have forgotten but which is next to highlander to drink and chat and wait for those late people. So after that we walked around for awhile before deciding to go to MOS. BUT, not all of us brought identification, so we ended up wandering around outside in circles pretty frustrated because most of clark quay was damn quiet on a thursday night. We actually wanted to go back to the bar we came from just now, but for some strange reason, they 'suddenly' raised the minimum age to 24 and denied us entry. Well done.

Slept for about four hours at home before going down to ju-fucking-rong west somewhere way the hell in the west. I think it was like, right next to USA, judging by the amount of time it took to travel there. Anyway I was just in charge of some game station which was kind of so difficult that only 3 teams could complete it. But just being there reminded me of how much we have grown since our lower secondary days. I think I actually kind of liked those days better. I can't believe that I feel this way now but then we were actually more unfraid to express ourselves don't you think? The way that i could just ask a question and expect a response made me wonder if we have really changed so much over these few years or whether I used to be in a quiet class.

Most leadership camps are generally quite duh but this one had a very special ending. I think that the 'boss', cecilia was a really amazing speaker, managing to lull the entire hall, including the coaches into a state of entrancement with her touching story. I've heard the story before but never told in this way. After she ended her story she actually had several students in tears. No idea how she does it but damn, I really want to learn how to speak like that. Turns out she lives just a few streets away from me too, so her dad gave me a ride home. Thankfully too, because I was dreading the trip back from jurong. Oh yea, she's rich too.

Anyhow, I have also accepted nus engineering and biz. I mean, yea, it was nice being accepted into law and getting to dream about all the money I was going to earn but comparing the two... SMU Law, potential to obtain a double degree after my first year, scholarship interviews on the year of entry versus NUS eng/biz, instant double degree, and they are paying for me. Lastly, just based purely on interest, I guess environmental science is what I want to study even though it is not really what.. erm.. what I want to study. Law I guess just happened because I could. To give NUS credit, they looked like they were sincere about wanting me and I guess I was touched. Last of all, when I get an engineering degree, I will be called a BEng! How badass is that?
