Today we were supposed to go for our school's cross country run. Unfortunately it started to rain. So after crowding into the very few tentages they had and eating some hotdogs, me and zl, eric, ash, lym, ter, aaron and fat pat went to superbowl to play LAN! It was a great game. We won the melee map going mass anti-air and aside from eric's dragonhawks shackling a few of my hippogryfs it was gg.
After the game we went to the yellow chair coffeeshop for lunch and i ate a chicken cutlet. Then we went to popular to try to find an emaths tys and some sort of revision guide for geography. The queue was too long however, so we decided not to buy any books. After that, I went home to study, do homework then to basketball. Richard and some people from e6 were there. It has been a long time since i talked to richard. Haha... He is currently having some problems with zero. Haha, what a guy.
Well, the reason for this blog entry today wasn't actually just to talk about what I did today, but as i was talking to eileen just a few moments ago, I realised that my secondary school life will be over very very soon. Contemplating on this, i realised that i have not really been very active in keeping touch with my primary school friends. As such, I am going to make sure that I keep in contact with all my friends in school. I cannot bear to forget all these people.
Chief among all these people is the tao huay gang! These great guys have been my good pals ever since secondary two. It all started with eileen, meiling, sandy, the basketball guys and zehou. That was really really long ago. Sandy was the one who came up with the name tao hui. Things change however, and people started coming and going... sandy stopped hanging with us and instead, shiyun and jialing were there. Then there was andy, elroy, nicholas. andy eventually became our lao da. We were at jurong celebraing meiling's birthday by going ice-skating. After skateing, we all went to pizza hut for lunch. It was there that andy sat at the head of the table and we made him our Lao Da. Haha... Following that there was the new 'intake' of people like chuhao. I think the latest person to hang with us was Chin Huat.
Back during secondary two, we would arrive really early in the morning. Somewhere around six thirty. At that time, uaually only alven and honchan and I would be there. the amazing thing about going to school early is that people seem to be inhibited in the mornings. Evey morning there would be this woman changing in the house outside our school and we could actually watch her from outside the classroom. thinking about it, I still find it incredibly hilarious.
Every recess we would all sit together and talk non-stop. Somehow, there always would always be alot of things to talk about. Everyone will gather at the two tables at the side of the canteen facing the basketball court at the center colum automatically. It was like our sacred land where no one else sat. Besides that, we all used to go out regularly to watch movies and such tuck.
Another great thing was out chalets. every year, we will hold a chalet. Our inaugural one was at aranda where we voted to let andy be the lao da. That was a really really fun chalet. We were all over the place, playing mahjong and playing in the pool. Last year our chalet was held at sentosa. We had like this terrace and outside there were many peacocks. We would go around knocking lamposts making them go out and getting yelled at my various people. We even went back to school in the middle of the chalet to go for basketball training.
Now that we are in secondary four, some of us have not been gathering at the table regularly. I have not seen richard for a long time. I myself seldom even go out of class during recess. I guess its all the stress and studying and piahing i have to do when I'm surrounded by extremely clever people. Theres Junwei, 2e1 top in class and usually second or third in class sitting behind me, Ouyang Hongyi, Top in 2e7, top in level, best in geography, best in history, best in maths, best in science yadda yadda. Usually top in class. Behing to the right there is aaron, 2e3 top in class, beside aaron is kelvin, last year's top in class. Being thus surrounded, it was a no brainer that I would start to study hard as well. Well, at least my results have improved...
A special friend that i had in tao huay was richard. We used to share alot of secrets and talked alot of nonsense together. I guess it came from the fact that we were the only two power forwards in 'c' boys. He was always better in basketball than me though, so usually he played during competitions. The most striking thing about richard is his sense of humor. I believe that he is one of the funniest guy to ever populate this planet. even the way he plays basketball makes you wanna laugh.
Alas, all good things must ultimately come to an end, and so must our time together as the tao huay gang. At the end of this year, we will all go our seperate ways to our various jcs and polys. I can only hope that our memories as best friends, sharing yeal and woe, playing basketball together, going out to watch movies, to sherwyn's house for mahjong and our chalets will hold us together and keep us in contact with one another. It is very sad that we must seperate and some of us might just never see each other ever again. I hope that of all the things we have to let go of, our friendship would not be one of it. I wish that we will still hold our chalet every year, still go to play basketball regularly and if one of us is bored, not to hesitate to call us out for a movie. I will always remember all the wonderful times we had and will always look upon the tao huay as my fondest memory in secondary school.
