So long since my last post and so much has happened.

I can remember it like it was yesterday. Friday the 13th, 2007, my first day as a soldier. From that day on, it was a test of how much feces you were able to endure. Only by focusing on short term rewards, will one be able to get through the crazy schedule that was BMT. I remember my reluctance to explicitly express interest in going to command school. Why couldn't they just place me wherever? Eventually I did, just to leave my options open.

I remember OCS as one of the best experience of my army life. It may have been torture at first, but after going to artillery, life became relatively good. We actually did stuff and had loads of fun. Especially my syndicate, broken basins be damned.

I did get my first choice in posting and I did get lucky with the whole lull until I ORD thing so I guess I'd have to be thankful for that. Being there allowed me much space for a life outside which has brought me so much fun and joy. In retrospect, this was the best way it could have turned out. So I guess that life does have a way of working out after all.

Now that I am finally free, I am so going to have fun. Not to spend money, because I don't have anymore, but just to live the life I want to live. Learn the things I want to learn and to do the things that I want to do. I still hope to get into veterinary science, and I'm still enrolled in business and engineering.

But I digress, tomorrow is also friday the 13th, which is coincidentally also my first day as a civilian. In addition to that, my birthday this year is on the 13th, which you guessed it, falls on a friday. My first day as an adult. Talk about spooky huh?
